HISTORY

In the beginning, MSI General was known as Metal Structures Incorporated or MSI, for short.

The company was founded by Pete and Claude Debbink in 1957. Claude died in 1962, leaving Pete to carry on the family business as Metal Structures, Inc. In 1972 the name was changed to MSI General and the design/build services were extended beyond metal structures to traditional buildings within the industrial markets. Then in 1970, MSI General moved to the current location in Nashotah. Dirk J. Debbink, Pete's son, joined the firm in 1983, served as president from October 1991 to May 2007 and currently remains as chairman. Craig Coursin took over as president of MSI General on June 1st 2007. See the news page for more about our new president, Craig.
