MSI General built T-Lon Products a Showcase building over ten years ago, then an addition five years later. When we needed to build out a portion of our interior, it was an easy choice to have them continue with their excellence in building to accomplish our goal. For the Village of Summit, this was a large and complex project. MSI General worked with our staff to meet the requirements of the State Statutes of the State of Wisconsin. Working together with MSI General, we were able to complete the project with changes and below our budgeted amount! When the Door County Piggly Wiggly decided to refresh and expand our store in Sister Bay, we selected MSI General, another family owned and operated, Wisconsin-based company like us to partner with. The level and quality of communication and collaboration between our team, the Piggly Wiggly Midwest Engineering team and MSI General was critical to the successful completing of the project, on time and on budget, prior to our summer season, while the store remained open for business. Our community was wowed with the new exterior and the store layout, while our employees were given a revitalized workplace that they could be proud to work in.

I am convinced that God had his hand in our decision to change from our original general contractor, and going instead with MSI General. Over our thirty-five year careers, we have built many plants and have worked with dozens of contractors. Frankly, the result is a growing disdain for much of the industry, as the simple foundation of honoring one’s commitment seems to escape many in the field. However, to our benefit we chose the perfect partner, MSI General, for our Fond du Lac expansion. We have clearly been with the right contractor. This has been one of the most enjoyable expansion experiences in my career.

Our fire department and building committee were not experienced in the process of building such a complex structure in conjunction with using part of the existing building. Our committee included people in the trades, but we needed the MSI General team to bring the project together – on time and on budget. From the first proposal, to the final punch list corrections, we were always handled in a professional manner. As the committee chairman, I was always extended an understanding ear by every MSI General department, no matter how frequent or simple my inquiries. I am sure you had many people behind the scenes coordinating a project of this complexity. We received numerous compliments from our citizens and from outside our village on how this structure fits into the residential neighborhood. Also, we met the initial timeline and came in $114,000 under budget, and that included almost $250,000 of loose items we bought and MSI General had no control over. Great job MSI General!

Other builders came to present us a detailed plan without really listening to what we wanted. MSI General got it and did very well with the differences that come along with building churches. I’m a big fan of Design-Build the way MSI General does it, especially for churches. They gave us the freedom to get deep into the design process before we had to pay an invoice. Also, we could ask all of our questions around the same table and get them answered right there.
